There was one little girl at Bible Club that I had seen the previous week, and God has given me a burden for.  When I saw Ashley, her eyes were empty and sad. I hurt for her, and really wanted for her eyes to light up with the joy of Jesus.  Well, last week at Bible Club, Ashley was the first one to show up, and got there a few minutes before anyone else.  I sat down and started talking with her.  I said, “So, tell me one good thing that happened to you this past week.”  She told me about the birthday party she just had, and then I asked her, “What’s one thing that happened to you that wasn’t so good?”  Ashley kinda shrugged and said, “Well, I know something that’s not going to be good tomorrow.  We have a substitute teacher coming in for school tomorrow, and I’ve heard she’s really mean.”

Then God gave me this idea, “Hey Ashley, would you mind if I prayed for your day tomorrow?”  Her eyes lit up, and she nodded her head “yes.”  So, I prayed that God would bless her next day, and that her teacher would be nice and that Ashley would be able to love her, even if it was hard.  We finished, and the other girls showed up.  Now, to some, it could seem like such a little thing to pray with a child, but to me, it was SO special  and a gift from God!!  I thank my heavenly Father that He gave me those few minutes of one-on-one time with Ashley to give her my undivided attention and pray with her!  For the rest of Club, whenever I looked at her and smiled, she smiled back at me, and I noticed a sparkle in her eyes! ~Bailey
