Some kids have such unstable lives. We never know if this is our last opportunity to share Christ with them. In July, Michaela hosted a Bible Club for kids in her neighborhood. Throughout the week, she and her friend taught the children using Bible lessons, missionary stories, Scripture memorization, songs, and games. It was a fantastic Bible Club! Three siblings who attended the most consistently over the 5-day Club often stayed late afterwards, just to spend more time with Michaela and her friend. Soon after Bible Club ended, however, Michaela learned that those three kids were moving out of her community…

In August, Michaela and her sister led VBS programs at two tiny, rural churches. Even the church kids there were hungry for God’s Word. When she asked how many of them had heard of David and Goliath, she was shocked that not one raised their hand! After only the second day of VBS, three kids from a broken home had to leave to go live with their dad because their mom unexpectedly left them…

One boy at VBS was dealing with a lot of heart problems. While playing games with the other kids, he sat down to rest and put his hand over his heart. Michaela wondered…will he even be here next summer?

Every moment is precious. Through the ministry opportunities that God gave her this summer, Michaela discovered how crucial it is to seize the opportunities we have and intentionally use them to make the most of every minute of time God gives us to invest into someone’s life. We never know when it might be the last.
