“Two weeks ago, I was eating lunch and talking with a fourth grade boy. In the course of the conversation, he shared that he didn’t like reading. Then he asked me what I was doing at the school, and I shared that I was [teaching character classes]. I began to tell him about Creativity. I shared with him that part of Creativity is looking at something from a new perspective and challenged him to look at reading from a new perspective. We talked about how he could use it to help younger kids or look at it as an opportunity to learn new things rather than something boring
and uninteresting. He said that he would try and do that the next week. When I came back to the school the next week, I was so excited to see him sitting at the lunch table with a book! I asked him if he did the challenge, and he said that he did! I was so happy to see that he had taken what was shared and truly learned and applied the information to his life.” ~Hanna
