Luke Schwartz

When Chad asked me to come on staff at In The Gap, my first thought was, “Oklahoma’s really hot.” My second thought was, “Thank you Jesus.” This was the opportunity I had been praying for, working for a place I could really stand behind, while also being in an environment that I could grow in Christ and invest in others.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (Mat. 19:14) Kids are super important, and treasured by God. Though in our culture, children are overlooked or seen as less valuable than adults, but that simply isn’t true. It is our duty as the church of Jesus Christ to be His body till He comes, and demonstrate His love and compassion to each of the kids we have the privilege to interact with, many of whom are coming from very difficult and degrading backgrounds. Working with In The Gap gives me the opportunity to support young people to do just that, and I could not be more grateful.”
(P.S. When I’m not working at ITG, I work a secondary job to financially support my time here. I would greatly covet your prayers, but if you’re considering clicking that button (\/ just below this paragraph \/) I would ask you to donate to someone who is more dependent on donations than myself.)
